Designed for new and veteran SmartLab™ Facilitators, the Advanced Facilitator Development Conference prepares STEM K-12 educators to support and facilitate student learning and skills development for career and college readiness. AFDC participants gain experience and knowledge of instructional strategies and the principles of project-based learning, develop expertise with a variety of advanced technologies, participate in authentic STEM practices, and learn to integrate cross-cutting concepts and content. Workshop Outcomes:

I am the Science Director and SmartLab Facilitator at Prince of Peace Christian School in Carrollton, TX. I have just completed my first year as a facilitator. The SmartLab is used by first through eighth grade four days a week for an hour each day. Moving to the SmartLab last year was the best career move I have made in my 36 years of teaching. The students have done an amazing job learning in the SmartLab and with the support of the CLS team have made this year awesome. Our motto in the SmartLab is "Student Innovate and the SmartLab elevates."
